Programme description

This accredited course will let you achieve your DAH1 (Ducted Air Heaters) qualification in a 1-day course to minimise the time you need to spend off the job. DAH1 will allow you to work on your gas safety skills in installing, commissioning, exchanging, disconnecting, serving and repairing domestic gas-fired ducted air heaters with a heat input of 70kW or less.

Who is this programme for?

This course and its variations are designed for anyone already working in the industry looking to upskill and gain certifications to prove their competency in gas safety. A valid CCN1 qualification is required to undertake this course.

Qualifications awarded

Learners will gain the following industry-recognised qualifications:

  • DAH1 (Ducted Air Heaters)

Pre-requisites

This course requires previous industry experience, as it's focused on improving your knowledge and skills within the context of working on the job. A valid CCN1 Certificate is required to undertake this course in the initial and re-assessment stages.

If you want to be re-assessed for your DAH1, your old certificate must have elapsed no more than 12 months ago. You can also present up to 6 months early for your reassessment and preserve your original expiry date.

From September 1, 2022, you must be registered on the Gas Safe Register for a minimum of 12 months to add additional appliances to your initial registration.

Course Overview

Refresher training & assessment of the following:

  1. Identifying unsafe conditions
  2. Diagnosing gas safety faults
  3. Causes and effects of split heat exchangers
  4. Suitable and unsuitable locations/compartments – fireproofing
  5. Air filters and their effects on appliances
  6. Requirements when combustion air is supplied by the heater’s circulating fan
  7. Condensate removal and disposal
